Balcony galleries will be decorated by “Sokolniki”

Sokolniki station (project name – “Stromynka”) is being built on the north-eastern section of the Big Circle Metro Line (BKL). Its construction began on Sokolnicheskaya Square at the main entrance to the park. A Metrostroevets correspondent looked at the construction site and found out that SMU-12 had already been completed.

SMU-12 keeps the construction site clean and tidy. This is the key to discipline in the teams and their careful attitude towards the future metro station. Under the ground, at a depth of 30 meters, they create a real palace, which refers us to the history of the first metropolitan subway stations.

The architecture of the Sokolnikov BCL will remind passengers of the Komsomolskaya Line of the Sokolnicheskaya Line with its balcony galleries located above the tracks. In the future, their image will be emphasized by LED lamps.

The main platform structures are currently being poured. The concreting of its base has actually been completed, and the builders have begun arranging the balconies.

“About three and a half thousand cubic meters of concrete were used on the platform section,” says the deputy. Head of Section No. 5 SMU-12 Nasir Mamedov. – This is about 40 percent of the planned volume.

Sokolniki BKL will have three exits. The ground pavilion of one of them (entrance hall No. 2) will harmoniously fit into the linden alley, which will be restored in the future. Thus, Sokolniki will become the second BKL station after CSKA with entrances located in the park.

The construction of enclosing structures for exit pits is currently underway. Excavation has already been carried out for lobby No. 1, adjacent to Rusakovskaya Street. Excavation work for pedestrian crossings is planned for May.

– Vestibule No. 1 is being built almost next to the road. During the work, it is necessary to block the roadway,” Nasir Mamedov notes the difficulties of implementing the project. “This requires changes to public transport routes and blocking the city highway. Most likely, we will receive permits by mid-April.

Through lobby No. 1 you will be able to get to the Sokolnicheskaya Line. Construction of a transition to an existing station also has its difficulties. There are no plans to close Sokolniki Red Line - it and neighboring stations will operate as usual for passengers. Builders will use technological windows - at night, when trains leave the city subway and traffic on the roads is noticeably reduced.

But now the teams are working around the clock. Every day from 380 to 400 people go to construction.

BTW

The construction of tunnels from Sokolniki to the round pit at site No. 17 continues. The right one, which is being excavated by TO-6 using a Herrenknecht S-770 named “Sofia,” is almost ready. Of the 1626 rings, there are 24 left to go through. The left tunnel is being built by SMU-1. TBM Herrenknecht S-755 “Tatyana” has 260 rings left to go through out of 1392. Underground tracks pass under the zone of influence of Russian Railways.

INTERESTING

The Sokolniki station of the Big Circle Line is being built in the historical part of the city. It was here that almost 90 years ago the first metro builders launched the red line of the city subway. Today the task is to build a modern station that will stylistically fit into the appearance of the Sokolnicheskaya Line station of the same name.
