"Elektrozavodskaya" of the large ring line awaiting the first passengers

The new station became the third launch for the Moscow Metrostroy this year. Behind the doors of the gray-red lobby, passengers will find an unusual interior with a panel “Battle of Heroes” 163 meters long along the entire track wall.

The first test train drove through the new Elektrozavodskaya tunnels on December 11. The station turned out to be unusual, with original design elements. The main highlight of the interior was the decorative composition on one of the track walls of the station hall. The panel, recreating the collective image of the defender of the Motherland from the encroachments of enemies on its freedom and independence in the era of Ancient Russia, was carefully assembled by specialists of the USR.

The composition consists of 570 individual three-layer aluminum panels. The total area of the already folded picture was 1210 square meters. The valuable cargo was delivered to the station hall on motorized locomotives from site No. 18, where boxes with large-scale puzzle elements were carefully lowered into the shaft.

“We assembled the panels according to the layout table, each part was numbered,” said Vladimir Shemarykin, head of section No. 5 of the USR. “We started from the bottom row, then slowly worked our way up.

The weight of each panel is 70 kilograms, its size is 1x2.2 meters. Five of the metro builders lifted one part, installed it and secured it in place. A template was placed between the panels - a gap of ten millimeters was obtained. A special bar made it possible to maintain the same distance when installing each element.

Two teams of five people each were involved in the installation of the underground fabric. Each element had no analogues.

“This was the first time such work was carried out,” Shemarykin shared. – We made sure that the panels were not damaged. The work was carried out expertly in a month and a half. Not a single part was broken from the entire volume. Now the main thing in this panel is not only to admire the historical battle, but also to take care of it.

The second original detail of the Elektrozavodskaya BCL is round openings with a diameter of 2.9 meters, located on both sides of the platform walls above the columns. The openings became unique niches for lamps, which were the main source of lighting in the station hall. Their installation was carried out by specialists from SMU-24. They also carried out all the plumbing and electrical work, including the installation of lifting and transport equipment.

“The escalators were installed directly into the inclined passage, where there were no walls or ceilings yet,” said Vladislav Kozyulin, chief engineer of SMU-24. – Only after the main installation did the builders erect the formwork above the escalators, and later concrete the walls and ceilings. This non-standard reverse sequence technology was used when installing escalators at the entrance and transfer to the Elektrozavodskaya Arbatskaya-Pokrovskaya metro line.

The installation of cables was no less difficult. In order not to hold back the construction process, pipes were laid into its ceilings already at the stage of construction of the lobby. The same decision was made during the construction of the station itself. The pipes were equipped with special rollers that protected the cable from even the most minor damage when pulled.

All work took SMU-24 less than six months. We laid 497 km of cables of various sections, ranging from low current to power products. By the end of November, voltage was supplied to all systems that had yet to be adjusted. This includes ventilation systems, video surveillance, fire protection systems, low current, radio communications and many others.

– Together with the filling of the coating, we increased our capacity. The pace of work turned out to be very high, we ourselves did not expect that we would finish it earlier than the norm,” shared Kozyulin. – At peak loads at Elektrozavodskaya, up to 485 people per day were involved in the installation of cable and wire products. Smaller teams of 50 to 60 people worked at night.

Before commissioning the station, a fire safety test complex was carried out and all vital systems were checked. Tests have shown that Elektrozavodskaya is safe to operate.
