Kilometer until spring. the boards will go up on Nizhegorodskaya Street in six months

On November 27, the excavation of the left running tunnel from the Aviamotornaya station to Nizhegorodskaya Street started. A Metrostroyevets correspondent went to the ceremonial launch of the Svetlana shield.

On the territory of site No. 25.3, builders are already launching the second shield, the first, “Olga,” launched at the Nizhegorodskaya Street station a week ago. The machines operate in a difficult area; they have to excavate at a depth of 26 meters in flooded soils.

“The geology is really difficult, you can’t argue with that,” says Nikolai Brachkov, Deputy General Director of Mosmetrostroy. “But the hardest thing is walking under the railroad tracks.” The tunnel route will pass not only under the Gorky direction tracks. It will also affect existing industrial zones and several residential areas of the capital. In the meantime, the builders are preparing the Svetlana tunneling complex for launch, which is already waiting for the official signal at the bottom of the pit.

– Launch the shield, Mikhail Yuryevich! - the name of work sites No. 25.3 of the First Deputy General Director of the Moscow Metro Construction, Mikhail Arbuzov. He approaches a special fence around the pit and presses the shield’s start button - to the loud applause of the miners, “Svetlana” sets off on the difficult journey to the future Nizhegorodskaya Street station. It's time to catch up with your neighbor on the right stretch. The car needs to overcome 1238 meters underground. The work of both mechanized tunnel boring complexes will be completed in April-May next year.

A week after the launch of “Svetlana” and “Olga”, we asked the chief engineer of SMU-1 Metrostroy, Alexey Nosov, how the mining was going on this section. According to him, at the moment there are no particular difficulties in the way of the shields in the work.

– It’s only a pity that the pit from where the mechanized tunnel boring complexes “Olga” and “Svetlana” started towards “Nizhegorodskaya Street” is not the largest. Its depth is only 35 meters. In such a small limited space it is quite difficult to organize a quick delivery of rock - the shields can go slower than we would like, - added the chief engineer of SMU-1. 90th anniversary
