Savelovskaya station of the Big Circle Line is in pre-launch condition. It will open to passengers at the very end of December. Contract manager Andrey Vyalykh spoke about the final stages of construction of the facility.
Construction of “Savelovskaya” under the working title “Nizhnyaya Maslovka” began in March 2012. By the beginning of December 2018, metro construction workers had almost completed its finishing. The pylons are lined with stone, the floors are laid with granite tiles. There is already a sign with the name of the station on the track wall.
– Construction went on around the clock all the time, interrupted only on major public holidays, shares Andrei Vyalykh. – Most of the work was carried out by the Moscow Metrostroy.
According to the contract manager, the final touches remain before launch. Work on the tunnel will be completed soon. A final check will be carried out. Run-in of elevators and escalators and cargo tests will take place.
The launch of the overall train is scheduled for December 21. This will be followed by the acceptance of automation of train movement telemechanics (ATDP). The trial lineup will take place on December 23. By December 25, by the time the newspaper is published, they plan to completely complete the finishing touches and receive permission to put the station into operation just before the New Year. Then, finally, Savelovskaya can be opened for passengers. This event will be a real gift for the residents of the capital.
The station is located under the Savyolovsky station square. It has become one of the deepest on the BKL. In conditions of dense urban development, the optimal location was chosen at 65 meters underground.
At Savelovskaya there will be three elevators and three inclined passages with four escalators on each. Two slopes go to the underground vestibules, another one goes to the station of the same name on the Serpukhovsko-Timiryazevskaya line. Exits lead to both sides of Butyrskaya Street and to the railway platforms of Savelovsky Station.
Gray and white marble, as well as gray and black granite were used in the decoration of the station. The palette was not chosen by chance: it was the color of the Serpukhovsko-Timiryazevskaya line, to which passengers will be able to transfer.
The original move was also used for the architectural design of Savelovskaya. As planned by the designers, the cast-iron tubes of the pylons and track walls were painted graphite color and left in full view of passengers. Elements of the tunnel lining will be a reminder of the difficulty with which metro builders construct deep stations.
