Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin on May 25 visited construction site No. 36 in the Lianozovo area, where preparations began for the extension of the Lyublinsko-Dmitrovskaya line beyond the Moscow Ring Road (MKAD) to the village Northern.

Pit on the site of the future "Lianozovo" station
The mayor announced the decision to extend the Lyublinsko-Dmitrovskaya line from the Lianozovo station outside the Moscow Ring Road to the future Fiztekh station underground.
– Two options were considered. The first is to go overground, which is faster and cheaper. But when they calculated the future operation, the impact on nearby houses - there is still some discomfort from the proximity of the metro when the line runs on the ground - they decided to go underground after all, - Sergei Sobyanin clarified.
In addition, underground penetration will reduce the time for relaying communications, including the central water supply and gas pipelines. This method will also minimize road closures, which will reduce inconvenience for local residents.
The length of the section from Lianozovo to Fiztekh will be 2.2 km. The excavation will start this summer along Dmitrovskoye Highway. Monolithic structures are now being erected at Lianozovo, and a tray is being prepared for future tracks. The new Fiztekh metro station will be located near the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology complex under construction.
In total, three new stations are planned on a 6.9 km long section - “Ulitsa 800 Letiya Moskvy”, “Lianozovo” and “Fiztekh”. In June 2019, metro construction workers already began excavation from the dead ends behind the Seligerskaya station, which is now the terminus on the Lyublinsko-Dmitrovskaya line, to Lianozovo. The builder of the right-hand distillation tunnel of the TBM “Klavdiya” only has 240 meters to go.
Extending the light green metro line to the north will improve the transport situation for 400 thousand people living and working in the Beskudnikovsky, Vostochnoye Degunino, Dmitrovsky, Lianozovo, and Severny districts. Travel time around the city will be reduced by 15-20 minutes. Phystech will also relieve the burden on ground urban passenger transport in transit towards the city center and reduce car traffic on Dmitrovskoye Highway.
