On March 22, a new section of the Lyublinsko-Dmitrovskaya line of the Moscow Metro opened from “Petrovsko-Razumovskaya” to “Seligerskaya”. In the first three weeks of operation, more than 950 thousand people used three new stations – Okruzhnaya, Verkhniye Likhobory and Seligerskaya. In total, the new section of the Lyublinsko-Dmitrovskaya line serves about 56 thousand passengers every weekday.
The opening of the stations was attended by Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin, General Director of Mosmetrostroy Sergei Zhukov, representatives of the metro and residents of the capital, for whom this event became a landmark - they had been waiting for the subway in this area for several decades. The idea of building tunnels and stations was voiced back in the 80s. Construction proceeded gradually, work was frozen, difficulties arose at the sites, and the project changed radically. However, despite all the difficulties, Mosmetrostroy successfully completed this important section and made the capital’s main high-speed transport accessible to Muscovites living in nearby areas.
– The opening of three new metro stations is a long-awaited event not only for residents of several districts of Moscow, but also for metro builders who carried out tunneling work in difficult hydrogeological conditions, said Sergei Zhukov. – This section will remain in the history of metro construction and the metro for a long time.
Zhukov added that Seligerskaya, which currently closes the line, became the anniversary station of the Moscow metro - the 215th in a row.
– It is noteworthy that it was the Moscow Metrostroy that several years ago launched another anniversary station - Salaryevo, the 200th for the capital’s metro, added the general director Mosmetrostroy.
Passengers of the Seligerskaya in the first two days of its operation were invited to leave their entry in the Metrostroyev guest book. More than 60 people wanted to share their impressions of what they saw on the extension of the Lyublinsko-Dmitrovskaya line. Most often the word “Thank you” appears on handwritten pages.
“Thank you for the metro, which is near the house. We live on Dmitrovskoye Highway. It’s very convenient for us - we are pensioners.”
“Thank you for the new station. Moscow has become much closer.”
“Thank you. Yours sincerely - Onisko, resident of Angarskaya Street."
Many reviews mention the long wait for the stations to open, and the timing is very different - depending on the age and memory of those who wrote.
"We are very happy about the opening of the metro. We waited five years and we finally got it! Very beautiful.”
“We’ve been waiting for the metro to open for a long time, I’ve been waiting since birth. I'm very glad. Ekaterina.”
“We have been waiting for the opening of the metro since 1979. We waited. Thank you. Tverskoy Yuri.”
The popular epithet for “Seligerskaya” is “beautiful.” Sometimes clarifications appear - “the most beautiful”, “comfortable”.
“The station turned out to be bright, comfortable, modern and not very deep - I like everything. Kanevskaya Maya, accountant."
Judging by the reviews on the day of the launch or shortly after it, Muscovites from other parts of the capital visited the station.
“Congratulations to the residents of Beskudnikov and Degunin, colleagues from the Pechatniki depot, all residents of Moscow on the opening of the stations. Enjoy the beauty. Get where you need to go quickly and safely.” Electric train driver at the Cherkizovo depot, Safonov N.A.”
Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin: Today we are opening three stations of the most difficult section of the metro that we took on in 2011. The construction of most of the northern radius (Lublinsko-Dmitrovskaya line - editor's note) was carried out in difficult geological conditions at a depth of about 60 meters. The site provided access to the metro for 450 thousand Muscovites. Time savings on daily trips around the city will be 30–40 minutes.
