The names of the launch facilities of the Big Circle Line were established - “Aviamotornaya” and “Lefortovo”. Our correspondent found out how preparations are going for the opening of the stations, scheduled for the end of this year.

Launch station names on track walls
The situation at Lefortovo and Aviamotornaya is similar. The station floors are noisy, dusty, and the sounds of instruments can be heard. Installers are installing communications for electric lighting and ventilation. Next, the finishers line the columns, corridors and floors. But once you are in the station hall, you understand exactly where you are. The names of the stations appeared on the track walls of Lefortovo and Aviamotornaya.
Wings soared
Builders enter the Aviamotornaya hall from the staircase gallery in the center. The steps are lined, all that remains is to install stainless steel railings. The floors are 99% complete, finishing work is underway along the edges of the columns and walls. A complex ornate pattern is formed by black and gray stones. Until the work is completed, the granite floor is carefully covered with plywood sheets, so the overall picture is not yet visible.
Columns in the shape of airplane wings soar to the ceiling. In them, builders hide the hood from prying eyes behind the cladding. In the future, it will provide passengers with fresh air. The columns are covered with aluminum panels and fiber-reinforced concrete.
Finishing at Aviamotornaya is carried out by section No. 3 of the USR under the leadership of Nikolai Arapov. 80 people work here around the clock in several shifts.
– The ceiling frame has been fully assembled, aluminum honeycomb panels are being installed. They differ in configuration and are located in different planes. The shape of the ceiling will support the aviation theme. In parallel, SMU-24 is laying lighting,” Alexander Osotkin, deputy head of site No. 3, shows the work.
The cladding of the track walls has already been completed. The inscriptions “Aviamotornaya” took their places on them. Each letter was attached separately. The walls themselves are lined with strips of aluminum panels ranging from four to six meters long, parallel to the floor. It seems that the stripes of different shades of gray are located chaotically. In fact, they were mounted strictly according to numbers, forming a mosaic panel.
The ceiling soared
Similar aluminum textured panels in shades of gray decorated the track walls of the Lefortovo station. They are placed perpendicular to the floor and diluted with inserts of black gabbro-diabase granite. The inscriptions “Lefortovo”, made of stainless steel, are also located on the walls.

Names of launch stations on track walls
The finishing at the station is 85% complete. Here, 80 employees of section No. 1 of the USR work in two shifts under the command of Ivan Sopov.
The main work is concentrated on the ceiling of the station hall. The frame is mounted everywhere, straight aluminum panels are attached to it in the center, and slats are hung at an angle from the side of the track walls.
– The station is light due to the design of the ceilings. Suspended slats give spatiality, says the deputy. Head of Section No. 1 Alexander Prostov. – The lighting is strip, rectangular in the middle of the hall, and separate lamps at the platforms.
There are some minor improvements left on the walls. The floor is made of Siberian gray and light gray granite in combination with black diabase. The columns of the station hall are concrete, lined with marble on one side and fiber-reinforced concrete on the other. During construction, the “dry” method is used, when all materials are attached to an aluminum frame.
Finishers are now waiting for the inclined passage to be completely installed. Here marble will be laid on the walls. The ground lobby, into which the escalators lead, is not yet ready. Monolithic work is underway. Its facade and columns will be made of 70% fiber-reinforced concrete panels in combination with black granite - 30%.
BTW
The names of the stations support the historically established toponymic system of Moscow. They are designed to remind passengers every day of the history of the areas. Granite and marble in light and dark colors are predominantly used in the decoration of the vestibules and platforms. Three-dimensional metal letters made of stainless steel are made with individual fonts.
The artistic appearance of “Aviamotornaya” with smooth symmetrical lines is associated with the air currents of a passing jet aircraft. The interiors of Lefortovo are stylized after ancient engravings of the 17th–18th centuries. with monochrome thematic designs in the ticket office and lobby.
INTERESTING
The “dry” cladding method involves attaching finishing materials to a subsystem of brackets. With this technology, the installation process is simpler than with the “wet” method, when a cement-adhesive mortar is used. In addition, operating time is reduced.
The “dry” lining method in metro construction was first used in 1971 during the reconstruction of Chistye Prudy on the Sokolnicheskaya Line. Then the covering of the track walls was completely replaced at the station.
