The legendary tunnel boring complex (TBMC) Lovat-242SE with the name “Claudia” went for its 11th star on Knowledge Day. Behind him there are a total of about 12.5 km of tunnels. The long-lived shield has been sanitized before the new excavation and is ready for any obstacles on the route.

The excavation of the right tunnel is carried out by TO-6 specialists under the leadership of the site manager Evgeniy Bachurin
The Lovat-242SE TBM headed for the north of Moscow from site No. 30, located on Dmitrovskoye Highway. He will have to build the right running tunnel from the dead ends behind Seligerskaya to the future Lianozovo station of the Lyublinsko-Dmitrovskaya line. Its length will be 2.4 km, of which 298 meters the shield will travel along a temporary tray on the “800th Anniversary of Moscow Street”. The left tunnel, 2.4 km long, was built by “Claudia” in a year and 12 days.
At the beginning of the path, the depth of which will be from 15 to 20 meters, there are karst rocks. Therefore, the builders will make the first 126 rings from cast iron tubes for a more durable structure. Next comes complex geology, including semi-solid loam with layers of hard-plastic clay; there are also quicksands along the shield route.
– When the TBM entered site No. 36, it turned out that the rotor was badly worn. After transporting “Klavdia” from “Lianozovo” to the site of a new launch, it needed a complete refurbishment,” said Deputy Chief Engineer of TO-6 Alexander Medintsev. – We have restored and strengthened the boxes that hold the rotor cutting tool. The rotor protection has also been restored.
The excavation of the right tunnel on the Lyublinsko-Dmitrovskaya line extension will be different from the left one. In the first case, the shield transited the intermediate station “800th Anniversary of Moscow Street”. Now, at site No. 33, active work has begun on extracting soil and securing the pit of the future station. Before “Claudia” enters site No. 33, a temporary tray will be poured and a bed will be prepared along which the shield will travel to the opposite wall of the pit. A new connection and a new start to the Lianozovo station are expected there, where work on the construction of the main structures of the station is already underway.

The length of the northern section of the Lyublinsko-Dmitrovskaya line is 5.6 km and includes three stations: “Ulitsa 800 Letiya Moskvy”, “Lianozovo” and “Fiztekh”, which extends beyond the Moscow Ring Road. The new stations will improve transport accessibility for residents of the Dmitrovsky, Vostochnoye Degunino, Beskudnikovsky, Lianozovo and Severny districts.
