Meet me at "Rzhevskaya"

The excavation of the left and right running tunnels from the "Stromynka" station of the Big Circle Line towards the round chamber on site No. 17 has begun.

At "Stromynka" on April 25, the Herrenknecht mechanized tunnel boring complex was taken on a new journey S-755. TBM "Tatyana" will have to go through the left section from site No. 8 to a unique round pit in the area of the Riga overpass.

The shield started from the dismantling and assembly chamber (DMSC), where it spent almost a month for sanitation. Since March 21, a complete audit of the tunneling machine systems was carried out by employees of UMM Mosmetrostroy. Tatyana's cutting tools, sealing brushes were updated, and the oils were changed. Based on the results of the inspection, we decided to completely replace the rotor.

This shield penetration will be the sixth. The upcoming path will be 2,222 meters. “Tatyana” will be escorted around the clock by 28 members of Alexander Shompolov’s brigade from SMU-1.

– “Tatyana” does not expect any major difficulties on her way. Of the 2,200 meters, only at the end there will be a crossing of a large railway junction under special control. Although this work is not new for us, at the same time we are carrying out a similar excavation under the railway tracks at Aviamotornaya,” shared Ilya Zvyagin, head of section No. 1 of SMU-1.

"SOFIA" FOLLOWS

Almost three weeks later, the Herrenknecht S-770 "Sofia" TBM started from here. Here he finished on April 19. Now this shield will construct the right section to Rzhevskaya.

“Sofia” began its journey in August 2017 in the convention chamber under the territory of the Metallurg stadium. It passed under the Rubtsovskaya BCL station under construction, Yauza, the Kazan direction railway tracks and the existing Sokolniki station.

At Stromynka, the TBM was met with a 60-meter concrete bed, along which the shield was dragged from one wall of the pit to the other. After checking all the systems and making the necessary repairs, the Sofia set off again. Management of the tunnel remains with TO-6.
