We continue the “Keyhole” section. In it, an MS correspondent spends one day with a builder, “spying” on his work. This time the hero of the column was the foreman of the second section of SMU-1, Ayrat Akhmadullin. He explained why the adrenaline from metro construction persists even after 30 years of experience.
Akhmadullin’s team is working at the Aviamotornaya station under construction on the Big Circle Line. The foreman’s day begins with planning:
– At 7:45 I go to the planning meeting with the site manager, so so that the guys don’t wait for me, we first meet with them in my carriage. I tell them the plan, distribute tasks: who will do what today. At 8:00 they already start working.
Akhmadullin’s integrated team has 20 people. There are ten of them on the site at a time - carpenters, fitters, welders.
“All the guys are very good, some have been working for me for probably 10-15 years,” Akhmadullin looks inside the pit, at the bottom of which his subordinates are building: people in helmets flash in the spans between executions. “When we’re all sitting in the trailer together, it seems like there’s a lot of people.” If the whole team is below, busy with work, you won’t notice everyone at once.
Now the entire scope of work, for which Akhmadullin is responsible, is concentrated on the 6th section of the dismantling and installation panel chamber No. 1 (DMSC). Walls are being built there. Workers knit reinforcement, prepare formwork, and pour concrete. Over time, as construction progresses, the walls will begin to take on the load from the outer surface of the pit, and then it will be possible to gradually dismantle the execution chambers. It's too early to do this yet. The load is still very high: even when a train passes on the adjacent railway tracks, you can feel the entire section vibrating a little.
– When we arrived, the tray was already filled. Now we are working on the walls: STM4, STM5 - small, sub-platform, we are finishing them. Now our main task will be the platform walls STM1, STM2, which will already go to the very top. Then we’ll get to work on the ceiling.
Akhmadullin’s team has a lot of work ahead to arrange the future station: the construction of an elevator shaft, flights of stairs and columns, a sump.
– This is our facility. And we must bring it to launch. I think we will meet the deadline that was given to us, in any case, we will try.
Akhmadullin has been working at Mosmetrostroy for more than 30 years. During this time, the foreman received two awards: a Certificate of Honor from the government and the title of Honorary Builder of the City of Moscow.
– In 1987, my brother brought me to Moscow from Tatarstan, he wanted to hire me as an asphalt paver, but the limit was already closed, and I went to work at Mosmetrostroy, recalls Akhmadullin. “I started as a miner, then went to technical school and became a miner. The first station that I walked from start to finish was “Peasant Outpost”. At that time our organization was still called SMU-14. Subsequently, we were transferred to the construction of roads: interchanges, bridges, overpasses. There I learned how to knit reinforcement.
A master from SMU-1, Igor Kamyshnikov, taught Akhmadullin to read drawings. Now the foreman copes with this task on his own.
– “It turns out that I learned everything from experience, I didn’t go anywhere specially, as they say, life forced me,” concludes Akhmadullin. – Over all this time, of course, the approach to work has changed a lot. Especially in technological terms there are big changes. Manual labor has become much less. When we started, there was hammer and stackers, drilling and blasting. And now there are brocks and harvesters everywhere. Everything is much faster and more convenient.
Talking about his service in Mosmetrostroy, Akhmadullin lists a dozen and a half stations at which he had the opportunity to work. Among them, the Lyublinsko-Dmitrovskaya line predominates: from the “Peasant Outpost” to the recently opened “Seligerskaya” and “Verkhniye Likhobor”.
– Every time you start construction, you think: “I’ve already built so many stations, this one will be the same.” But you come and see that everything is different. At each station there are new discoveries and emotions. You start work from scratch. The mood “we need to take it and build it” and adrenaline appears - we need to finish it faster, faster.

“Aviamotornaya” is a station under construction in the north-eastern section of the Big Circle Line of the Moscow Metro. It will be connected by a transition to the Kalininsko-Solntsevskaya line. This is a shallow columned three-bay station with two vestibules. On its basis, it is planned to construct a transport interchange hub (TPU) of the same name, which will not only provide access for BCL passengers to the yellow line, but will also combine the “Novaya” platforms of the Kazan and Ryazan directions of the railway and stops for ground urban passenger transport.
