Chief power engineer of SMU-24 Alexander Nechaev came to Mosmetrostroy after graduating from the mining department of the Tula Polytechnic Institute, having acquired the specialty “electrification and automation of underground mining”.
The young specialist was greeted warmly, and E.P. became his mentor. Davydov, E.Ya. Khaustov, L.B. Patricks, who helped the former student understand and master the specifics of the complex, multidisciplinary work of Metrostroy power engineers. They explained what the metro is, what is being built in it, what work SMU-4 performs, how to do it correctly and how to manage paperwork.
For his great contribution to the development of the construction industry of the city of Moscow and many years of conscientious work, in 2006 Nechaev was awarded the title “Honorary Builder of the City of Moscow.”
The knowledge gained at the institute and many years of practical work allowed Alexander Nechaev to create a mechanized cable-laying machine, which was successfully used in the construction of the Serebryanoborsky tunnel. Its introduction has speeded up the process of laying cables at high altitudes several times. The head of Mosmetrostroy, Gennady Stern, appreciated the invention.
Alexander Nikolaevich generously shared his experience with his young colleagues: under his patronage, M.V. became masters. Krasnoshchekov, M.V. Ivanov, A.A. Babukhin.
–The institute provides theoretical knowledge, so a young specialist needs to be able to apply it in practice, says Nechaev. – At SMU-4 I started as a section mechanic. Having gone through almost all stages of career growth, he became the chief power engineer of SMU-24. Over the 49 years of metro construction, he left his native walls only twice: in 1997, he was sent to eliminate the consequences of the accident at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, where he was engaged in mechanization of construction, installation and finishing work, and from 2000 to 2002 he served in the army on conscription from the reserves.
From 1975 to 2014 he worked at the stations “Tushinskaya”, “Medvedkovo”, “Novogireevo”, “Orekhovo”, “Tretyakovskaya”, “Yasenevo”, “Krylatskoye”, “Dmitrovskaya”, “Cherkizovskaya”, “Kozhukhovskaya” - “Pechatniki”, “Akademika Yangelya Street”, “Myakinino”, “Volokolamskaya”, second lobby VDNKh station, as well as on the construction of the Moscow Ring Road and the North-West Tunnel.
–I was repeatedly offered to change my job at Metrostroy to a more prestigious and highly paid one, but I didn’t want to part with my family: our people are amazing, friendly, responsive. They will always come to the rescue, they love their work, they give it their all,” notes Nechaev. – My site performed the entire range of electrical and plumbing work. This includes laying cables of all types, their finishing, installation of equipment, connections, lighting, installation of automation and ventilation, drainage, sewage drainage.
The friendly, close-knit team can handle any job. There are three people in the chief mechanic department: chief mechanic Arkady Murugov, chief power engineer Alexander Nechaev and leading chief mechanic Alexander Uteshev. All issues are resolved jointly.
For example, last December there was an unpleasant moment: the heating main froze due to the fact that the heating was turned on at the wrong time. Through joint efforts they revived her, and she was launched. Problems in other areas are also being resolved in a coordinated manner. Not a single launch was disrupted due to the fault of SMU-4 or SMU-24. Even if the site was handed over with a delay, they worked overtime, on weekends and holidays.
–The decision to finally retire was not easy. If it weren’t for my sore legs, I would still work,” sums up Alexander Nikolaevich. – I would like to wish my family team to maintain friendship, take responsibility for the assigned work and remain metro builders.
