Evgeny Steblov: metro builders are creating a social masterpiece

Evgeny Steblov
People's Artist of Russia, theater and film actor

I use the metro with pleasure. The stations “Prospekt Mira”, “Rizhskaya”, “VDNKh” are connected with my life. Our metro is the most beautiful in the world. This is something we can be proud of. When I get to new stations, they make a very pleasant impression. This is a different style, not the one I observed growing up (Evgeny Steblov was born in 1945 - editor's note). And yet, in my opinion, the modern metro construction policy is quite reasonable and aesthetically motivated. I would like to wish the Metro construction workers health and success in their noble work. Let everything go well in your work. You could say they are creating a social masterpiece.

In Georgy Danelia’s film “I’m Walking Around Moscow” (1963), Evgeny Steblov played the nervous, touching and funny 19-year-old Sasha Shatalov (with the loud middle name Industrievich), whom Nikita Mikhalkov’s hero helps to get a deferment from the military registration and enlistment office for an early marriage.
