On June 1, the children's health camp “Young Metro Builder” in the Kaluga region welcomed over 340 children from Moscow and Russian regions - participants in the first of four summer sessions.
– The construction of the recreation center began in 1944 on the territory of the Pobeda state farm, where the organization had a subsidiary farm. The first vacationers lived in wooden buildings and tents. Gradually the territory was improved, cottages and outbuildings were erected. Since 1970, the camp has become known as “Young Metro Builder,” said the general director of Mosmetrostroy JSCSergey Zhukov. – Today, the large-scale reconstruction of the Metrostroy health resort is almost complete. We carried out major repairs of all buildings, landscaped the territory, built treatment facilities and a boiler room, and updated communications. The main work was completed in the year of the 90th anniversary of the Moscow Metrostroy. Each organization contributed to the restoration of the iconic place for several generations. It is noteworthy that all buildings are painted in the signature colors of Mosmetrostroy - burgundy and beige, and an installation of real cast-iron tubes is used in the design of the main entrance to the territory.
The legendary recreation center is planning an expansion. It was decided to build a multifunctional club for 300-400 people for conferences, quests and sports competitions. The foundation has already been concreted and the building frame is being erected.
The open-air museum is especially popular with children. The narrow-gauge railway is equipped with various subway construction equipment, including trolleys that were used to transport soil and rock during the construction of tunnels.
DOL "Yuniy metrostroyevets" is located in an ecologically clean area of the Kaluga region, in a forest park area on an area of 34 hectares, not far from the Istya River. The recreation center includes two-story sleeping houses, a dining room, a staff building and a hotel, an indoor gym, comfortable rooms for clubs, and a medical block.
The territory is equipped with a football field, courts for volleyball, basketball, and team events. On Pushkinskaya Alley with linden trees, wooden openwork gazebos for creative activities have been restored, and a fountain has been installed in the central square. There is its own subsidiary farm - warehouses, storage for vegetables, an aviary for birds and a stable.
– This summer, four thematic sessions “METRO” and “PROcosmos” with interesting educational and entertainment programs have been prepared for schoolchildren. The kids will forget about gadgets, games, competitions, quests, impressions, friends, communication with teachers and life experience await them,” noted the director of DOLLeonid Podvoisky. – Presumably, this year over a thousand children aged 7 to 15 years old will have a rest at the “Young Metro Builder” - not only from the families of metro builders, but everyone who wants to. We have created the best conditions for children's health.
