Concreting of an adjustable switch has begun at the Fiztekh metro station on the Lyublinsko-Dmitrovskaya line, said Andrey Bochkarev, Deputy Mayor of Moscow in the Moscow Government for urban planning policy and construction.
Thanks to the improved switch, servicing the new section of the Lyublinsko-Dmitrovskaya line will become much more convenient.
“An adjustable turnout switch was installed in the Moscow Metro for the first time; it is located in the return dead-ends of the Fiztekh station and is necessary for the turnover and parking of trains,” said Andrey Bochkarev.
General Director of Mosmetrostroy JSC Sergey Zhukov added that the installation of the experimental switch was carried out by specialists from Mosmetrostroy’s subsidiary company, SMU-12.
“The peculiarity of this switch is that previously it was impossible to adjust the gauge and ordinate on LVT sleepers after concreting, but now this can be done using adjustable under-rail pads,” explained Sergei Zhukov.
Installation of an adjustable turnout switch is practically no different from how it was done before.
“We plan to completely complete the laying of track concrete in the dead ends of the Fiztekh station at the end of July,” noted the head of Mosmetrostroy.
The extension section of the Lyublinsko-Dmitrovskaya metro line, about 6 km long, includes the Yakhromskaya, Lianozovo and Fiztekh stations.
The launch of the new section will reduce the load on the Altufyevo and Seligerskaya stations to 15%, on Dmitrovskoye Shosse and Lianozovsky Proezd – to 7%. About 500 thousand people will be able to get to home, work and school faster. These are residents and workers in five districts of Moscow, the city of Dolgoprudny, students and employees of MIPT. For the first time, the metro will come to the districts of Vostochnoye Degunino, Dmitrovsky and Severny.
