Inclined rings are being installed at the second exit from the Rizhskaya station of the Big Circle Line (BCL) in the area of Vodoprovodny Lane, said Sergei Zhukov, General Director of Mosmetrostroy JSC.
“By the end of 2023, the active phase of ground freezing was completed. The construction of the inclined passage of the second vestibule is carried out using the mining method. Metro construction workers built a foreshaft from where the Tula inclined tunnel layer began work,” said Sergei Zhukov.
He explained that the escalators on this lobby will be one of the longest in the capital’s metro – about 129 meters. The leader is Maryina Roshcha BKL, the length of its escalators is 130 meters.
The general director of Mosmetrostroy added that the excavation of the escalator tunnel will take place in difficult soils. Workers will manually pave the path for the future exit with a diameter of 10.5 meters using jackhammers.
“The builders will build three transfer tracks to the existing Rizhskaya station of the BKL, a passage corridor with a diameter of 9.5 meters and a tension chamber with a diameter of 10.5 meters leading to the escalators,” explained Sergei Zhukov.
The exit from the station is designed through the track wall of the right track. To do this, they will make an incision in cast iron tubes.
“The walkers will lead passengers to the tension chamber and to the transfer to the Rizhskaya station MCD-2,” noted the head of Mosmetrostroy.
At the moment, there is one lobby for passengers at Rizhskaya. The second lobby and interchange hub will significantly reduce the time spent by passengers to access the Rizhskaya stations of the Bolshaya Koltsevaya and Kaluzhsko-Rizhskaya lines. Thanks to the transfer to the MCD, travel will become more comfortable.
