A photo exhibition dedicated to unknown objects of the Moscow metro construction has opened on Tverskoy Boulevard. It will last until October 31 inclusive. The organizer of the photo project was JSC Mosmetrostroy, which celebrates its 90th anniversary this year.
What Mosmetrostroy does is clear from the name. However, there are pages in the company's history that are not known to a wider audience. Over the 90 years of its existence, the organization’s employees, along with fulfilling their main task, had the opportunity to work throughout the country and abroad at a variety of facilities. Among them are the Kremlin Palace of Congresses, Children's World on Lubyanka, Luzhniki Stadium, BAM, Aswan Waterworks in Egypt, engineering structures and tunnels in Jalalabad, fine wine factories in Koktebel.
“Mosmetrostroy is more than a construction company. This is the life of entire generations who were and are trusted without fear by serious objects, including government and military installations. Metro builders are a special breed of people who never cease to amaze and delight. It was important for us to note what has become history, what is forgotten over time and what we are proud of,” said Sergei Zhukov, General Director of Mosmetrostroy JSC.
To date, 220 “non-core” projects have been implemented by the founding company of the domestic metro construction industry. In the future, the list will only be expanded. The history and current activities of the organization provide reason to assert this.
