The exhibition-installation “Metro Builders - Victory” opened at the Museum of Moscow Metro Construction, named after the Hero of Socialist Labor and the first builder of the Moscow Metro, Tatyana Fedorova. This was announced by the General Director of the Mosmetrostroy company Sergei Zhukov, clarifying that the exhibition is dedicated to seven metro stations of the capital, built during the Great Patriotic War.

“May is rich in important dates for metro builders. This year the whole country is celebrating the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory Day. Another significant anniversary is 90 years since the foundation of the Moscow metro. Despite the presence of armor, about two thousand metro builders voluntarily went to the front and to the militia; those who remained contributed to preserving the lives of the townspeople and continued their work vigorously - during the war years they built seven metro stations: Avtozavodskaya, Paveletskaya, Novokuznetskaya, Baumanskaya, Semyonovskaya, Partizanskaya and Elektrozavodskaya. For this heroic work, Metrostroy was awarded the second Order of the Red Banner of Labor,” noted Sergei Zhukov.

On the opening day of the exhibition, the museum hosted the premiere of the documentary film “Underground Front”, created by the creative association of representatives of Mosinzhproekt and Mosmetrostroy, available for viewing atlink.

The central exhibit of the exhibition was a portrait of the Honored Builder of the RSFSR Tatyana Fedorova by artist Viktor Poltavsky. Tatyana Viktorovna is depicted against the background of the panel “Metrobuilders” (by E.E. Lansere), which is also presented to visitors to the exhibition.

During the war, Tatyana Fedorova participated in the construction of many defensive lines and was awarded the Order of the Red Star, the Order of the Patriotic War and the medal “For the Defense of Moscow.” For more than 25 years, she held the position of deputy head of the Moscow Metro Construction, overseeing social issues. For outstanding services in the construction of the metro, she was awarded the title of Hero of Socialist Labor.

The Moscow Metro Construction Museum is located at Tsvetnoy Boulevard, 17. Admission to the exhibition is free daily from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. To explore the installation sequentially, you should move counterclockwise (from the entrance).
