Policies database
About the database
The IEA’s Policies and Measures Database provides access to information on past, existing or planned government policies and measures to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, improve energy efficiency and support the development and deployment of renewables and other clean energy technologies.
This unique policy database brings in the same place data from the IEA/IRENA Renewable Energy Policies and Measures Database, the IEA Energy Efficiency Database, the Addressing Climate Change database, and the Building Energy Efficiency Policies (BEEP) database, along with information on CCUS and methane abatement policies.
This policy information has been collected since 1999 from governments, partner organisations and IEA analysis. Governments have an opportunity to review the policy information periodically.
Please note that this information is not exhaustive; for example, information on actions taken by provincial or regional government is not systematically included.
IEA/IRENA Renewable Energy Policies and Measures Database
The IEA and the the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) have worked together to develop and maintain a joint database of renewable energy policies and measures. This database is the result of long-standing collaboration between the IEA and IRENA on data and statistics, renewable energy technology costs, and renewable policies.
